Konu:It was all full of cheerfulness last Friday at the Conference Hall of Yükselen College, as our debating contestants took their respective seats and geared for the much anticipated contest between the 9th and 10th graders.
The motion for the day was that, "Homework does not serve its intended purpose and should therefore be abolished". We had the 9th graders as the affirmative team vehemently rising to speak FOR the motion on one hand, whiles the 10th graders representing the opposing team resisted it fiercely on the other hand, reiterating the need for its continuity, with the urgency it requires and thus, speaking AGAINST the motion that it should be abolished.
Indeed, to say that we are proud of them is an understatement. They exhibited a great deal of their argumentative skills all in an attempt to persuade the panel of judges and the audience to support their stance in the debate. Their performance was outstanding and reflected different dimensional approaches of the powers of conviction and rebuttals.
The audience was also kept fascinated and anxious throughout the contest.
At the end of the day, the 10th graders emerged victorious. More grease to their elbows. We CONGRATULATE them for their deeds of distinctions, and to our gallant 9th graders, we acknowledge their untiring efforts and wish them a better luck next time.
